Hello RV Friends,
Today I’d like to introduce to you the best cooker I’ve ever had. My Instant Pot.
Like the Induction Cooktop, the Instant Pot is electric and can be used indoors under your stove or ceiling vent; or used for outdoor cooking. I like using my Instant Pot in our RV instead of using the stove top because:
- Energy efficiency: Instant Pots use electricity instead of propane, making it more energy-efficient in RVs. They utilize a combination of pressure cooking, slow cooking, sautéing, and other functions to cook food quickly and efficiently, reducing overall energy consumption compared to using multiple propane appliances for different cooking tasks.
- Space-saving: Instant Pots are multi-functional appliances that can replace several devices in an RV kitchen. The Instant Pot replaces your large stock pot, crock pot, rice cooker and steamer. The Instant Pot can handle all these tasks in one unit. This saves valuable storage space in the RV and reduces the need to carry multiple bulky appliances.
- Safety and convenience: Instant Pots offer safety features such as automatic pressure release and lid-locking mechanisms, reducing the risk of accidents during cooking. They also have programmable settings and timers, allowing users to set and forget their meals without constantly monitoring them. This convenience is especially beneficial for RVers who may be on the move or exploring outdoor activities and don’t want to a lot of time in the kitchen. Additionally, using an Instant Pot eliminates the need to handle and store propane tanks, reducing the risk of leaks or gas-related accidents in the RV.
I use my Instant Pot almost daily, from steaming eggs (used for travel day breakfast), steaming veggies, making chili, pinto beans, rice, soup, stew, yogurt, bread and even cake. If you have not yet tried an Instant Pot, it is an amazing piece of cooking technology that is well worth the storage space it needs. Keep in mind, you can pack its accessories inside the pot and even remove the lid to turn upside down or store elsewhere if your cabinets are not tall enough. Give it a try, you’ll thank me for it.
Keep in mind as with any electrical appliance, you need to watch your power consumption, so you don’t overload a circuit and trip a breaker.
